Charlotte Detrick

Charlotte Detrick, daughter of Danish immigrants, originally hails from South Florida, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Miami. She began her performing career dancing in the corps de ballet with the Miami Ballet Company, but eventually made the switch to singing.

Charlotte has enjoyed success in both the genres of opera and operetta. She has performed the role of Adele in Die Fledermaus with the Concert Opera of Philadelphia, Hannerl (the lead) in Das DreiMaderlhaus with the Liederkranz Opera, and last year sang Josephine in H.M.S. Pinafore at New Jersey’s Performing Arts Center. Other G&S heroines include Mabel in Pirates of Penzance with Opera Northeast, Aline in The Sorceror, Lady Psyche in Princess Ida, and Elsie in Yeoman of the Guard with the New York G&S Players. For this last role she received the following reviews:

Opera roles include the title role in Carlisle Floyd’s Susannah, Abigail in The Crucible, Marguerite in Faust, and Zerlina in Don Giovanni. Concerts include the soprano soloist in The Messiah, and a recital of art songs at Saint Bartholomew’s church last December.
